As part of my dissertation project in University, this character was made to demonstrate the animation principles in a 3D model.
During this process I needed to design an appealing character. In Photoshop I quickly designed six different characters, and I had some colleagues tell me what they found the most appealing. In the end it was a anthropomorphic tree character that was the most popular.
I modelled, rigged and animated this tree character in Blender. I studied the animation principles so I could refine my animations (e.g. adding squash and stretch). Extra effort was put into making the animation more fluid and expressive.
